Most competitive business have found that market research is essential to capture leadership in their niche. Some companies have entire departments devoted to market research. One way companies use to get information about and an understanding of their customers is through surveys. This information is so valuable that companies are even willing to pay people for their opinions if necessary.

Typically the companies will target small groups or demographics of people. They do this because this is the group of people that they are trying to sell their product to and this is the group they want information about. They try to find out why these people like or dislike a product, what they think about it

The paid surveys that you see online and that you can get paid for too are created by major corporations to get a feeling for how their customers perceive their products. They are typically short and consist of easy questions. Online paid surveys usually last from 5 to 30 minutes and longer surveys are usually better paying. Survey companies pay prizes, points and good old cash.

The ones that pay you are the market research companies. These are the ones who create the surveys and send them out via email to their survey panelists like you and me. Some survey sites send just a few surveys per week and some send multiple surveys per day. Each survey you complete will get you paid, sometimes a little and sometimes a lot, it really depends on the subject matter and your qualifications to take various surveys. You get paid either by check mailed to your home or sometimes by PayPal. Payments can be made every month or for some companies when you meet a minimum payment amount.
