 Making money used to be a lot harder than it is now. When I was a kid, I mowed our two huge lawns and washed our two family cars, all for $10. An entire afternoon's work, for $10! I also picked berries at the local berry patch for $1.00 a flat. Kids now can make that kind of money doing a lemonade stand on the side of the street, taking out the garbage for neighbors, or watering their grandparent's plants.
It seems like adults have a harder time making extra money than kids do because most adults are apprehensive about asking their neighbor if he has any odd jobs he's willing to pay for. Adults are much more selective about the type of work they will do for extra money, and understandably so.
